A planner'sp rimaryo bligationi s to servet he public interest. While the definition of the public interest is formulated through continuous debate, a planner owes allegiancet  a conscientiously attained concept
ofthe public interestw, hich requiresth eses peciaol bligations;
1. A planner must have special concern for the long range consequences of present actions.
2. A planet must pay special attention to the interrelatedness of decisions.
3. A planner must sfive to provide full, clem and accuraie information on planning issues to citizens and governmental decisionm akers
1. A planno must sfive to give citizens the opportunity to have a meaningful Impact on the development of plans and programs.Participations hould be broad enoughto include people w ho lack formal organization or in fluence.
2. A plannerm usts fiive to expandc hoicea ndo pportunityf or all per$ons Re Cognizing a special responsibilitryto plan for the needs of disadvantaged groups and persons, and must urge the alteration of policies, institutions and decisions which oppose sucb needs.
3. A planner musst trive to protect the integrity of the natural environment.
4. A planner m ust strive for excellence o f environmental design a nd endeavor to conserve the heritage of the built environment
